NIZWA AL-HAMRA
Trip Overview:
Starting from Nizwa, the old capital of Oman, we will walk around the old souq of Nizwa and listen to the fascinating history of Nizwa Fort. This region has a very long and powerful history. In fact, we will see that in a photo stop at the UNESCO world heritage site: “Falaj Daris” meaning water that runs through a channel dug in the earth we will then visit Al Hoota cave, which is estimated to be over 2 million years old! Al Hoota cave is located at the foot of Jabal Shams – the highest mountain of the country!
Finally, we will explore the old village of Al Hamra at the foot of the hills, and walk through date plantations and old ruins
